"I wasted so many years in addiction. It's too late to have the life I could have had."
How it sounds in your head: You look back at decades lost to substances, relationships destroyed, opportunities missed. Now in your sixties, you feel like you're living in the aftermath of your own devastation. Other women your age have grandchildren, legacies, intact families - and you have regret.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy accusation that past disqualifies future and God cannot redeem lost time or create new purpose.
The visible evidence of lost years is undeniable - you can count the decades, name the relationships, list the opportunities that passed. At this age, it feels like everyone else is harvesting what they planted and you're starting from scorched earth.
He wasted YEARS and his entire inheritance on prostitutes and reckless living, ending up feeding pigs with nothing to show for his life. When he came home, the Father didn't lecture about wasted time - He threw an immediate party, restored full sonship, and declared 'this son of mine was DEAD and is ALIVE again' with zero probation period.
I REFUSE the lie that my past disqualifies my future or that God cannot redeem lost time. IT IS WRITTEN that God will RESTORE the years the locusts have eaten - not just give me consolation prizes, but RESTORE what was lost. I am not living in the aftermath of devastation - I am standing in the beginning of supernatural restoration. IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that I am a NEW creation - old things have PASSED, ALL things have become NEW. My past does not define my future. The BARAK blessing that made Isaac wealthy after his father lied about his mother TWICE now makes me fruitful through the better covenant. It's not too late - it's RIGHT ON TIME.
The Father doesn't see you as someone who wasted years - He sees you as someone He's about to shock with accelerated restoration. He's not giving you scraps from the table of 'what could have been' - He's running toward you with the fattened calf, the robe, the ring, ready to restore in months what the enemy stole in decades.
