"I wasted my one life being anxious instead of joyful, and now it's too late."
How it sounds in your head: I spent 90 years worried about everything - my kids, money, health, what people thought. I was never one of those peaceful, radiant Christians. I squandered the gift of life being afraid, and I can't get those decades back.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25The enemy twists regret into condemnation, making her believe that past anxiety has permanently disqualified her from God's pleasure.
She can look back at specific moments she was controlled by fear instead of faith, and those moments are unchangeable. The decades feel wasted, and death is too close for a do-over.
He wasted his ENTIRE life as a criminal, met Jesus in the final hours while dying. No time to redo anything, no chance to live differently. Jesus' response: 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise' - instant, complete acceptance with zero time to prove change.
I REFUSE the lie that my anxious years were wasted. IT IS WRITTEN that God restores the years the locusts have eaten - even decades of fear are redeemable in His hands. My Father doesn't measure my life by my emotional performance; He measures it by CHRIST'S PERFECT LIFE credited to me. Every worried moment was still a moment He held me. IT IS WRITTEN in Philippians 1:6 that He who BEGAN a good work in me will complete it - my worth isn't determined by how I felt during the journey. I am BARAK-blessed, and that blessing covers my entire timeline.
The Father isn't looking at your life with disappointment over anxious decades. He's looking at you with pride that you KEPT GOING despite the mental battles, that you're still here, still His. Every worried prayer still reached His ears, and He treasured every single one.
