"I was the other woman in someone's relationship. I knowingly helped someone cheat. I'm a homewrecker and a terrible person."
How it sounds in your head: You knew he had a girlfriend and you pursued him anyway. You were part of breaking someone's heart. You're the villain in someone else's story, the girl other girls hate, the one who proves women can't be trusted. You destroyed something that wasn't yours to touch.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
-- 1 John 1:9Enemy assigning full moral weight of someone else's choice onto her shoulders, blocking forgiveness with condemnation.
She knew the situation, made a choice, saw the fallout, and feels the weight of being 'the other girl.' The guilt is compounded by knowing she participated in real harm.
Bathsheba participated in adultery with King David (whether fully consensual or coerced by power dynamics, she was complicit in the affair that destroyed her marriage to Uriah). God not only forgave her but made her the MOTHER OF SOLOMON, the wisest king, and included her BY NAME in the genealogy of Jesus—she went from adulteress to queen to ancestor of the Messiah.
I REFUSE the lie that being 'the other woman' makes me permanently a homewrecker. IT IS WRITTEN that if I confess my sins, God is faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me from ALL unrighteousness. I am not defined by my worst relational choice. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a new creation in Christ; old things have passed away, and ALL things have become new. I am not a villain—I am a FORGIVEN daughter of the King, washed clean by the blood of Jesus. My future relationships are BLESSED, not cursed, because I am covered by GRACE.
The Father isn't holding this over your head or branding you 'untrustworthy'—He's running toward you saying, 'I'm washing this completely away and writing a NEW story where you're the faithful one, the loyal one, the one who PROTECTS relationships because you know what betrayal costs.' He's not giving you leftovers because of your past—He's giving you ABUNDANCE because of His NATURE.
