"I was the mean girl who bullied someone so badly they switched schools. I'm a terrible person who ruins lives."
How it sounds in your head: You know exactly what you did. You led the campaign against her, made the group chat, spread the rumors, laughed when she cried. She had to LEAVE because of you. You're not just a bully—you're the reason someone's life got destroyed. That's who you really are under all the fake niceness now.
"This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life."
-- 1 Timothy 1:15-16Enemy cementing guilt into identity, blocking repentance from producing transformation testimony.
She remembers specific cruel moments, saw the real damage, knows the girl transferred schools. The guilt is heavy because the harm was real and public.
Saul didn't just bully—he systematically hunted down Christians, dragged them from their homes, threw them in prison, and MURDERED them (he held the coats while Stephen was stoned to death). Jesus appeared to him on the road to Damascus, and within DAYS Saul was preaching Christ—his name was changed to Paul, and he wrote 13 books of the New Testament; his murderous past became the PROOF of grace's power.
I REFUSE the lie that my cruelest moment is my permanent identity. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ came to save sinners, of whom Paul called himself CHIEF, and he obtained mercy to be a PATTERN of God's longsuffering. I am not 'the mean girl'—I am a daughter being transformed into a TESTIMONY of redemption. IT IS WRITTEN that if anyone is in Christ, she is a NEW CREATION; old things have passed away. My past cruelty does not define my future—God's mercy does. I am loved, forgiven, and TRANSFORMED.
The Father doesn't see you as the bully—He sees you as the girl who's about to become the DEFENDER of every outcast, because you know what it's like to be the villain. He's running toward you saying, 'I'm turning your greatest shame into your greatest ministry—you're going to save girls from becoming what you were AND girls from experiencing what she did.'
