"I'm too old to be beautiful or desired; my value as a woman is behind me"
How it sounds in your head: My body has betrayed me. The mirror shows someone I don't recognize. My husband barely looks at me. The world celebrates youth and I'm invisible now. Even in ministry, they want the younger women. My season of mattering is over.
"Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised."
-- Proverbs 31:30Source: World's system that equates a woman's value with youth and physical appearance, amplified by church culture that tokenizes older women.
Society literally stops seeing you after 60. Ads, movies, church stages—all feature younger women. Your body has changed in ways you can't reverse. Conversations about your health outnumber conversations about your dreams.
Sarah was 90 years old, decades past menopause, when God said she'd have a baby. She laughed because her body was 'dead.' God gave her INSTANT supernatural fertility and she bore Isaac at 90. Her greatest miracle came in the season the world would discard her.
I REFUSE the lie that my value expires with my youth. IT IS WRITTEN that beauty is passing but a woman who fears the Lord SHALL BE PRAISED. I am not less valuable—I am MORE valuable with the wisdom and authority of this season. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 46:4 that God says, 'Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you.' Sarah received her greatest miracle at 90. Anna became an evangelist at 84. I stand in the BARAK blessing that has NOTHING to do with age or appearance. God is doing His greatest work through me NOW. My latter glory exceeds my former.
The Father looks at you with MORE delight now than when you were 25 because you KNOW Him more. He's not nostalgic for your younger body—He's celebrating the depth in your eyes that only decades with Him can produce.
