"I was stupid to trust them. My judgment is broken."
How it sounds in your head: You should have seen it coming. At your age, you should have known better. All the warning signs were there, and you ignored them. Your ability to read people is gone. You can't trust your own judgment anymore, so you can't trust anyone.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
-- James 1:5Enemy using betrayal to attack your identity and discernment, making you doubt the God-given wisdom you carry.
The betrayal feels like proof that your judgment has failed, and at 70+, you fear losing your mental sharpness and discernment. Self-condemnation feels deserved because you believe you should have known better with your life experience.
Samuel, the greatest prophet of his generation, looked at Eliab and thought, 'Surely this is the LORD's anointed'—and was WRONG. God corrected him instantly without condemnation: 'Do not look at his appearance... the LORD looks at the heart.' One wrong judgment didn't disqualify Samuel's prophetic gift.
I REFUSE the lie that my judgment is broken. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives wisdom liberally and without reproach, and I receive that wisdom NOW. One person's betrayal doesn't define my discernment—it reveals their deception, not my failure. I have the MIND OF CHRIST, and my ability to read people and situations is being sharpened, not diminished. IT IS WRITTEN that the steps of a righteous man are ordered by the LORD, and He is ordering my steps away from betrayers and toward covenant keepers. I walk in the BARAK blessing with supernatural discernment that increases with age, not decreases.
The Father is running toward you with the declaration that you are NOT stupid—you are TRUSTING, which is a virtue He celebrates. He's not correcting your judgment; He's exposing the betrayer and upgrading your gift of discernment to supernatural levels RIGHT NOW.
