"I trusted the wrong people with money and now I'm suffering God's punishment for being so naive."
How it sounds in your head: I was so stupid. I believed the wrong financial advisor, trusted family members who stole from me, fell for scams. A wiser woman would have seen through it. This poverty is what I deserve for being gullible. God is teaching me to be smarter through suffering.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Religion makes God the author of painful lessons, turning your victimization into His curriculum and financial abuse into divine pedagogy.
The losses were real, the betrayals cut deep, and hindsight makes your trust look like stupidity. If God is sovereign, then this pain must be His plan, His correction, His way of teaching you the discernment you lacked.
Satan destroyed his wealth, killed his children, ruined his health while religious friends blamed Job's sin for his suffering. God wasn't teaching Job through loss—He was defending him against attack, and God gave Job TWICE what he'd lost with no 'lesson' required.
I REFUSE the lie that my financial losses are God's punishment for being trusting. IT IS WRITTEN that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father, and theft is NOT a good gift. My betrayal came from the thief, not from Heaven. God doesn't teach through devastation—He restores what the enemy steals. IT IS WRITTEN in Joel 2:25 that He restores the years the locusts have eaten. My Father isn't disappointed in my trusting heart—He's PROUD of it, because love believes all things. The enemy exploited that beauty, but my Father will vindicate it. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK that protected Abraham when he was DECEIVED protects me when I am deceived. God didn't make me naive to punish me—He gave me a pure heart, and He will be my defender.
Your Father doesn't set you up to be robbed so He can teach you street smarts—He mourns your losses with you and plans vindication and restoration. Job's friends blamed him; God defended him and doubled everything the enemy took.
