"I taught Sunday school for forty years and the new pastor threw out everything I built to chase relevance."
How it sounds in your head: Curriculum I wrote. Methods I developed. Forty years of kids who came to Christ. New guy shows up and says it's 'outdated.' Replaced it all with videos and lights. Everything I built, erased like it never mattered.
"Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor."
-- 1 Corinthians 3:8Enemy weaponizing generational transition and stylistic change to attack the ETERNAL VALUE of decades of faithful seed-sowing that will bear fruit forever.
The filing cabinets with his handwritten lessons are in the dumpster—he saw them. The new 'kids ministry director' is 28 and never asked him a single question. His legacy feels deleted, his decades irrelevant, his methods scorned.
Bezalel built the Tabernacle with God-given skill and artistry. That Tabernacle was eventually replaced by the Temple, then destroyed—but Bezalel's REWARD for faithful building remained, and his name is honored in Scripture forever.
I REFUSE the lie that my life's work was erased because methods changed. IT IS WRITTEN that I will receive MY REWARD according to MY LABOR—not according to whether the next generation keeps my filing system. Every child I taught is a SEED PLANTED, and God doesn't let seeds die because leadership changes. My reward is in HEAVEN, not in curriculum cabinets. IT IS WRITTEN that the righteous are not forsaken—and that means my LEGACY is not forsaken even if my lessons are. I planted, others water, but GOD GIVES THE INCREASE. The BARAK blessing means my seed bears fruit even after I'm gone. I am blessed, and my labor in the Lord is NOT IN VAIN.
Father is preparing a reunion in Heaven with EVERY child who came to Christ through your forty years, and when you see them worshiping around the throne because YOU were faithful, you'll realize no pastor could ever erase THAT legacy.
