"They preach grace but practice judgment, so it's all a con."
How it sounds in your head: You watched them rally around the pastor's kid when she got pregnant but whisper about the single mom in the back row. You heard 'come as you are' until someone actually did. The Sunday sermon and the parking lot conversation are two different religions, and you're done pretending they're not.
"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."
-- Psalm 118:8Source: religious hypocrisy that uses grace language while operating under law systems, creating cognitive dissonance that makes people question God's character based on His people's inconsistency.
You have receipts. You've seen the double standards, the insider favoritism, the way 'biblical community' evaporates when real mess shows up. Their actions preach a different gospel than their words.
Eli's sons were priests who 'knew not the LORD,' sleeping with women at the tabernacle entrance and treating God's offering with contempt - the ultimate religious hypocrisy. Yet God still spoke to Samuel IN THAT SAME CORRUPT SYSTEM, proving He shows up for the hungry even when leadership is rotten.
I REFUSE the lie that human hypocrisy invalidates divine truth. IT IS WRITTEN that it's better to trust in the Lord than put confidence in man. Their failure to live what they preach doesn't change what HE demonstrated on the cross. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing doesn't depend on whether church people are consistent. IT IS WRITTEN that God is not a man that He should lie. I judge the Father by Jesus, not by broken people wearing His name tag. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, positioned by HIS perfection, not their performance.
The Father knows you've been served law with a grace label. He's not defending the hypocrisy - He's inviting you past it to encounter HIM. Like the Prodigal, you don't need their approval to come home. The Father is running toward you with a party, not asking you to reconcile with the older brother first.
