"I stole from a previous employer. That theft disqualifies me from financial blessing now."
How it sounds in your head: You took money, inventory, or time you didn't earn. Maybe you fudged expense reports or pocketed cash. Now you're trying to build a life, but you feel like God can't bless you financially because you're a thief at heart.
"Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need."
-- Ephesians 4:28Religious teaching that God withholds blessing based on past sin plus enemy accusation of permanent disqualification from provision.
He knows he literally stole, and every financial struggle feels like cosmic payback. Prosperity feels off-limits because of what he took.
Zacchaeus was a CHIEF tax collector—professional thief, extortionist, traitor to his people. Jesus invited Himself to dinner BEFORE Zacchaeus made restitution. Zacchaeus' repentance came AFTER acceptance, not before, and Jesus declared 'TODAY salvation has come to this house'—IMMEDIATE, not after he paid everyone back.
I REFUSE the lie that past theft disqualifies me from present provision. IT IS WRITTEN that former thieves are not just forgiven but positioned to have SURPLUS to GIVE AWAY. I am not my worst decision—I am WASHED, SANCTIFIED, JUSTIFIED. Jacob STOLE a blessing, and God still called him Israel and confirmed the covenant. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in the city and in the field, blessed coming in and going out. The BARAK blessing of Abraham is mine through Christ, and that blessing operated DESPITE deception and theft. I am under GRACE, not karma. God commands the blessing on my storehouses because of COVENANT, not conduct.
Jesus didn't wait for Zacchaeus to make restitution before declaring him saved. Acceptance came FIRST, then transformation. Your Father isn't withholding provision until you 'pay Him back'—He's running toward you with abundance RIGHT NOW.
