"I spent my inheritance frivolously and don't deserve another chance at provision."
How it sounds in your head: You had your chance. You got the life insurance money, the settlement, the inheritance from your parents—and you blew it on things that didn't matter. You should have been wiser. You don't get a do-over when you're this old.
"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence."
-- Ephesians 1:7-8Enemy accusation using the older brother's voice to keep you from the Father's house.
The money actually came and went. You have receipts for things you don't even own anymore. You look at friends who invested their inheritance wisely and feel the contrast sharply.
Demanded inheritance early, spent it all on prostitutes and wild living, ended up starving in a pig pen. Came home rehearsing an apology, but his father ran to him, cut off his servant speech, restored his ring of authority, his robe of identity, and threw a celebration—complete restoration in minutes.
I REFUSE the lie that I don't deserve provision because I spent unwisely. IT IS WRITTEN that I have redemption through His blood according to the RICHES of His grace. My Father runs toward me with restoration, not away from me with rejection. The prodigal wasted everything and received everything back—this is my pattern. IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Corinthians 9:8 that God makes all grace abound toward me. I receive the ring, the robe, and the fattened calf NOW because I'm a daughter, not because I managed well. My identity is GIFT, not achievement.
The Father has been watching for you, and the moment you turn toward home, He runs. He doesn't care about the wasted years—He cares about the restored relationship. The party starts the second you arrive.
