"My parents struggle financially, so I shouldn't ask God for things they can't afford."
How it sounds in your head: I see how hard my parents work and how tight money is. It feels selfish to ask God for stuff when they're already stressed. I should just be grateful for what I have.
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
-- Ephesians 3:20Enemy strategy: limiting God's provision to what parents can afford, making blessing conditional on family income instead of covenant promise.
She loves her parents and doesn't want to add stress. Asking God for things beyond their budget feels greedy when she knows they're struggling.
Children of slaves who owned NOTHING watched God move on Egyptians' hearts to GIVE them gold, silver, and clothing—wealth their parents could NEVER afford. God provided for the kids independent of their parents' financial situation because He's THEIR provider too.
I REFUSE the lie that God's provision for me is limited to my parents' budget! IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 3:20 that God does EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY above all I ask or think—His resources are INFINITE, not limited by human income! The children of slaves received Egyptian wealth their parents could never afford because God provides BEYOND natural means. IT IS WRITTEN in Philippians 4:19 that God supplies ALL my need according to HIS riches in glory—not my parents' bank account! I boldly ask my Heavenly Father for what I need, knowing He delights to give good gifts to His children!
Your Heavenly Father's bank account isn't limited by your earthly parents' finances—He owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10)! He loves surprising His kids with provision that comes from unexpected places, just to show you He's YOUR provider.
