"I should prioritize giving everything away over building wealth for myself in these years."
How it sounds in your head: At 50, shouldn't I be more focused on generosity than accumulation? It feels selfish to build wealth for me when I could be giving more away. Maybe the truly spiritual thing is to live on less so others can have more. Building abundance now feels greedy.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Religious teaching created false dichotomy between personal prosperity and kingdom generosity.
You've been taught that giving and receiving are opposing forces, that building wealth means withholding from God. Every sermon on generosity felt like condemnation for saving, so you give beyond wisdom calling it faith.
Job was the wealthiest man in the East AND the most generous, righteous man. After loss, God didn't restore him to 'just enough to give away'—He gave him DOUBLE his former wealth. Personal prosperity and kingdom generosity weren't opposing; they were PARTNERED.
I REFUSE the lie that I must choose between personal prosperity and kingdom generosity. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives me ALL sufficiency in ALL things PLUS abundance for every good work—I get BOTH. Building wealth isn't opposing generosity; it's FUELING it. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives POWER to get wealth—He's not offended by my abundance. The BARAK blessing on Abraham made him EXTREMELY wealthy, and that wealth blessed nations. I build wealth AND give generously. They're partners, not enemies.
The Father isn't asking you to empty yourself as proof of devotion. He's running toward you with ABUNDANCE that overflows into generosity naturally—like He did with Job, DOUBLING his wealth not to hoard but to bless from OVERFLOW, not depletion.
