"I should hoard and protect what little I have left instead of giving"
How it sounds in your head: With medical bills piling up and the cost of everything skyrocketing, I need to hold tight to every penny. Giving to the church or helping family feels irresponsible when I might need that money for hospice or emergencies. Survival mode is wisdom now.
"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it."
-- Malachi 3:10Poverty spirit from enemy to cut off generosity in her final season, blocking the flow of blessing that comes through giving
Her fixed income doesn't stretch, inflation is real, and she's watched savings disappear into healthcare. Every expense feels like a threat to her security.
She had TWO COINS left—literally all she had to live on—and she gave BOTH to God instead of keeping one for survival. Jesus didn't rebuke her for irresponsibility; He honored her, and tradition says she was the same widow in Luke 21 who saw God's provision multiply, because radical generosity in lack activates heavenly supply.
I REFUSE the lie that hoarding is wisdom! IT IS WRITTEN that God opens the WINDOWS OF HEAVEN over those who give, and there will not be room enough to receive the blessing! I am not in survival mode—I am in THRIVING mode because my God supplies ALL my needs according to His riches in glory. IT IS WRITTEN in Luke 6:38 that when I give, it will be given back to me—good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over! The BARAK covenant blessing guarantees that I will LEND and not borrow, be the HEAD and not the tail. I am a conduit of blessing, and generosity is my nature because I'm connected to the VINE of abundance!
The Father isn't looking at your bank account telling you to be careful—He's running toward you with OVERFLOW, whispering, 'Give from what I've given you and watch Me do what only I can do!' Like the widow who gave her last two coins and Jesus CELEBRATED her, your generosity in this season isn't foolish—it's the faith that releases miracles, and He's about to show you provision that makes no earthly sense.
