"Preparing for the future is pointless when Jesus could return today."
How it sounds in your head: Why save for tomorrow? Why invest in retirement accounts or estate planning? He could return before I wake up. Financial planning shows lack of faith in His imminent return.
"A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous."
-- Proverbs 13:22Religious false dichotomy that makes stewardship and expectancy mutually exclusive, enemy weaponizing anticipation to create irresponsibility.
Faith seems to mean living on the edge, not planning. The early church expected His immediate return, and planning feels like unbelief.
God revealed seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. Joseph didn't say 'God will provide, don't plan.' He PREPARED massively—storing 20% of Egypt's grain for FOURTEEN YEARS. When famine hit, his PREPARATION saved nations. Instant wisdom, long-term provision.
I REFUSE the lie that preparing for the future is pointless. IT IS WRITTEN: A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children. I am under the BARAK—blessed in my storehouses, blessed in all I set my hand to. IT IS WRITTEN: The plans of the diligent lead to plenty. Joseph PREPARED while walking with God. Noah BUILT while preaching judgment. I prepare AS IF He's delayed while living AS IF He's imminent. Wisdom and expectancy are BOTH mine. I leave LEGACY.
The Father isn't testing your faith by demanding irresponsibility—He's calling you to STEWARD like Joseph and EXPECT like Enoch. He's running toward you saying 'Plan with My wisdom, live with My hope. Prepare for your grandchildren while longing for My return. You can do BOTH.'
