"I should have tithed more consistently, that's why I'm struggling financially now"
How it sounds in your head: If I'd been faithful with tithing through the years, God would be blessing me now. My current lack is the result of not giving Him His ten percent. I'm under a curse for robbing God.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Religious manipulation using Malachi 3:8-10 from Old Covenant to create fear-based giving and blame victims for their poverty.
She's heard countless sermons connecting tithing to blessing and lack of tithing to curses. Math seems to support it—she could have more saved if she'd given more. Preachers use Malachi to prove God withholds from non-tithers.
He was a CRIMINAL who never attended church, never tithed, never gave to ministry, never did one 'good work.' He simply believed Jesus in his final moments. Jesus promised him PARADISE that same day—full access to the kingdom based on GRACE alone, not financial faithfulness.
I REFUSE the lie that my struggle is punishment for inconsistent tithing. IT IS WRITTEN that God makes ALL GRACE abound toward me—provision is by GRACE, not percentages. I am NOT under the law of the tithe; I'm under the GRACE of the New Covenant. Christ redeemed me from the CURSE of the law. The BARAK blessing isn't earned by ten percent—Abraham was blessed before tithing existed. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed with the faithful Abraham by GRACE through faith. The thief on the cross gave NOTHING and received PARADISE. My Father runs to the prodigal who has nothing left to give. I am righteous by GIFT and provided for by GRACE.
Your Father isn't withholding provision because of missed tithes. He's the Father who blessed Abraham before the law existed, who promised the non-tithing thief paradise, who runs to prodigals with empty pockets. He's not a percentage calculator—He's a FATHER running toward you with abundance based on HIS nature, not your giving record.
