"I should have protected him better from bad influences."
How it sounds in your head: I let him have that phone too early. I didn't monitor closely enough. I should have changed schools, changed neighborhoods. I saw the red flags with those friends and didn't act fast enough.
"For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways."
-- Psalm 91:11Parental responsibility lie that makes fathers solely responsible for protecting against every external influence rather than trusting covenant covering.
You can trace the timeline of when things shifted and identify the exact influences that pulled him away. Hindsight gives you perfect vision of what you 'should have' done differently.
Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery, threw him into prison through false accusation—the WORST influences and circumstances—yet God used it ALL for good, saying 'You meant evil, but God meant it for GOOD.' Bad influences can't override God's plan.
I REFUSE the lie that my imperfect protection doomed my son. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives His ANGELS charge over him—supernatural bodyguards I didn't assign. Even bad influences can't override covenant. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:28 that ALL things work together for good to those who love God. That includes every wrong friend, every bad choice, every influence I couldn't control. The BARAK blessing turns CURSES into BLESSINGS. What the enemy meant for evil, God is turning for GOOD right now.
The Father doesn't expect you to be omnipresent—He already IS. Angels you never hired are already on assignment protecting and redirecting your son's path.
