"My son/daughter is too far gone; they'll never come back to God or to me."
How it sounds in your head: You see the addiction, the lifestyle, the anger in their eyes when they avoid your calls. Years have passed. They've built a whole life away from everything you taught them. The enemy whispers: 'You'll die before you see them come home. They're lost forever.'
"And He said to me, 'Son of man, can these bones live?' So I answered, 'O Lord GOD, You know.'"
-- Ezekiel 37:3Source: Enemy's accusation combined with religious teaching that repentance requires a long process of proving themselves.
You've prayed for decades and watched them move further away, not closer. Every birthday, every holiday they miss feels like confirmation that the gap is permanent and you're running out of time.
He wasn't just far away—he was in a pig pen, ritually unclean, having spent everything on prostitutes, having disrespected his father by demanding inheritance early (wishing him dead). The father saw him 'a great way off' meaning he was WATCHING, EXPECTING, and he RAN—restoring him fully in approximately 15 minutes from pig pen to party.
I REFUSE the lie that my child is too far gone. IT IS WRITTEN that God asked Ezekiel if dry bones could live, then raised a valley of corpses into an army. My child is NOT beyond the Father who RAN to the prodigal while he still smelled like pigs. IT IS WRITTEN in Ezekiel 34:16, 'I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away.' I am ABRAHAM'S SEED and heir according to the promise—the BARAK blessing covers my household. The same covenant that protected Jacob the deceiver and Abraham the liar covers my seed. I declare the terror of God upon every enemy holding my child, and I EXPECT sudden, supernatural restoration because INSTANT breakthrough is my Father's pattern.
Right now, the Father is watching the horizon FOR your child, not watching your child to judge them. He has the robe ready, the ring polished, the fattened calf prepared—He's been EXPECTING this reunion and He will RUN when He sees them even 'a great way off.'
