"I should have known better and now I've squandered irreplaceable time."
How it sounds in your head: The signs were there, the warnings came, others told you. You ignored wisdom and stayed, tolerated, enabled, chose wrong. Now you're 64 and can't get back the decades you knowingly wasted. You KNEW better and did it anyway.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."
-- Romans 8:28Religious shame about 'missing God's voice' or 'ignoring wisdom,' amplified by self-condemnation and hindsight clarity.
Hindsight shows every red flag you ignored, every moment you could have pivoted, every person who warned you. The evidence of your foolishness is undeniable.
Jonah deliberately RAN FROM GOD, got swallowed by a fish, spent three days in death—and the INSTANT he prayed, God gave him a SECOND chance with the SAME assignment. Jonah's rebellion didn't disqualify him; God's 'word of the Lord came to Jonah a SECOND TIME' and Nineveh experienced the greatest revival in history.
I REFUSE the lie that my foolishness disqualifies me or that time knowingly wasted is irredeemable. IT IS WRITTEN that ALL things work together for good—not just wise things, ALL things. My Father doesn't audit my past to determine my future; He resurrects what died, redeems what was lost, restores what I squandered. IT IS WRITTEN in Joel 2:25 that He restores the YEARS the locusts ate—years I FED to the locusts through my choices. I am Jonah—running FROM God yet receiving a second chance with the SAME assignment. The BARAK blessing of overflow isn't based on my wisdom; it's based on HIS COVENANT. I am righteous by HIS BLOOD not my decisions. My vindication is NOW.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to grovel through decades of should-haves. The moment the prodigal turned, Father RAN—didn't wait, didn't lecture, didn't make him recount every foolish choice. The party starts TODAY, not after you've paid penance for knowing better.
