"I practiced yoga for years—I opened myself to Hindu demons unknowingly."
How it sounds in your head: It was just exercise at first, but they had us chant and do sun salutations. I didn't know I was worshiping false gods. Now I wonder if I invited spiritual bondage into my body. Maybe that's why I feel so much physical pain now.
"Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one."
-- 1 Corinthians 8:4Religious teaching that gives demonic power where none exists through ignorance.
Learning later that yoga has Hindu roots creates retroactive guilt, and current physical suffering seems like divine punishment for unknowing participation. The body-spirit connection makes it feel like physical invasion happened.
Daniel ate food from Nebuchadnezzar's table, food that had been offered to Babylonian idols. He wasn't defiled because idols have no power. God blessed him with health, wisdom, and favor—the idol food had zero spiritual effect.
I REFUSE the lie that yoga opened me to demons. IT IS WRITTEN: An idol is nothing in the world, and there is no God but one. I stretched my body—I did not worship false gods. No demon can inhabit a body where the Holy Spirit dwells, and I am SEALED by the Spirit. IT IS WRITTEN: My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and He does not share His temple with demons. The BARAK blessing protects me from curses I didn't even know existed. My physical pain is NOT demonic punishment—it's earthly limitation that Jesus bore at the cross.
The Father isn't scanning your past for every unwitting gesture that might have honored a false god—He's rejoicing that His Spirit lives in you NOW. He sees you holy, blameless, and completely His, yoga poses and all.
