"I went to a séance and spoke to the dead—I violated something sacred and unforgivable."
How it sounds in your head: I just wanted to hear from my mom one more time after she died. But I went to a medium, and now I feel like I crossed a line God can't overlook. It feels unforgivable.
"Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."
-- Hebrews 10:17Religious teaching about 'unforgivable sins' and violations of sacred boundaries.
Deuteronomy explicitly forbids consulting the dead, and she did it. The grief that drove her doesn't seem like enough justification for such a violation.
The Samaritan woman had five husbands and was living with a man not her husband—serial violation of covenant. Jesus didn't make her clean up first; He offered her LIVING WATER immediately and made her the first evangelist to her city. Instant restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that my séance was unforgivable. IT IS WRITTEN: God will remember my sins and lawless deeds NO MORE. My grief didn't disqualify me from mercy—it qualified me for compassion. Jesus took EVERY violation to the cross, including this one. IT IS WRITTEN: There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. I am not beyond forgiveness—I am fully FORGIVEN. The BARAK blessing covers me by covenant blood, not by my perfect obedience. I am washed, restored, and remembered NO MORE for my past.
Your Father isn't holding your séance against you—He's holding you, period. Like the woman at the well, whose multiple covenant violations didn't disqualify her from living water, you are offered FULL restoration right now, grief and all.
