"I need to work up more belief before God will release my breakthrough."
How it sounds in your head: I'm not ready yet. I need to pray more, read more, worship more, FEEL more faith. Once I get to that place of unshakeable belief, THEN God can move. Right now I'm not spiritual enough for breakthrough. I need to get to a higher level first.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
-- Ephesians 2:8-9Source: Religion treating faith like a ladder you climb to unlock God's movement, making His blessing contingent on your spiritual achievement level.
You've heard teachings about 'getting in position' and 'preparing for breakthrough' that make it sound like you need to reach a certain spiritual altitude before God releases anything.
The thief had ZERO time to pray more, read more, worship more, or work up belief. He had minutes to live, nailed to wood, dying for his crimes. He said one sentence: 'Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.' Jesus IMMEDIATELY responded: 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.' No preparation. No readiness. Instant salvation.
I REFUSE the lie that I need to manufacture more belief before God moves. IT IS WRITTEN that even faith itself is a GIFT - I can't work it up because it's already GIVEN. The thief on the cross had no time to prepare, no chance to get spiritual, and got IMMEDIATE paradise. IT IS WRITTEN that I am saved by GRACE through faith, not by my works or readiness level. The BARAK blessing flows by COVENANT, not by my spiritual achievement. I am the righteousness of God in Christ RIGHT NOW - not after I pray more or feel more faith. God is ready. That makes me ready.
The Father isn't waiting for you to climb a spiritual ladder before He embraces you. He's the God who gave paradise to a dying criminal who had zero time to prepare, who blessed Abraham before he earned it. You don't get ready for God. His readiness makes you ready.
