"I need to prepare for death instead of contending for life—acceptance is maturity"
How it sounds in your head: Everyone's telling me to 'be realistic' and 'get my affairs in order.' Maybe fighting for healing is just denial. Maybe mature faith means accepting this is God's will. I don't want to be that delusional Christian who dies disappointed.
"I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord."
-- Psalm 118:17Religious spirit disguising surrender to death as spiritual maturity instead of the warfare faith of scripture
Well-meaning Christians quote 'Thy will be done' and Paul's 'to live is Christ, to die is gain,' making acceptance of death sound noble while contending for life sounds selfish or immature.
Her promised son died suddenly. When asked if everything was okay, she said 'IT IS WELL'—not accepting death but declaring faith. She traveled to the prophet, REFUSED to leave without a miracle, and Elisha raised the boy instantly—one who was DEAD walked out alive.
I REFUSE the lie that accepting death is mature faith. IT IS WRITTEN: I shall not die but LIVE and declare the works of the Lord. Jesus came to give me ABUNDANT LIFE—death is the thief's work, not my Father's will. I am seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above all sickness and death. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in ME and quickens my mortal body NOW. IT IS WRITTEN: by His stripes I WAS healed—past tense, finished at Calvary. I contend for LIFE because my Father is running toward me with resurrection power, the same power that will raise me on the last day available to me TODAY.
Your Father didn't send Jesus to the cross so you could 'mature' into accepting death—He sent Him to DESTROY death's power over you. He's not waiting for you to peacefully surrender; He's waiting for you to violently receive the life He already purchased.
