"I need to be more spiritual before God brings my wife."
How it sounds in your head: Your quiet times are inconsistent. You struggle with lust. You don't serve enough at church. God is probably waiting for you to get more disciplined, more holy, more on fire before He trusts you with a wife.
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Religious lie—making relationship a reward for spiritual performance.
Pastors talk about 'becoming the man she needs.' You know your spiritual gaps. It feels logical that God would wait until you're more mature. Your inconsistencies seem like proof you're not ready.
Jacob was literally running from his brother after DECEIVING his father when God appeared to him and confirmed the covenant blessing. God didn't wait for Jacob to repent, mature, or prove himself. He blessed him as a liar and stayed with him through everything.
I REFUSE the lie that I must reach spiritual milestones before God blesses me with a wife. IT IS WRITTEN that while we were STILL sinners, Christ died for us—He doesn't wait for perfect performance. If God gave His Son before I was holy, He's not withholding a wife until I am. IT IS WRITTEN that salvation is a gift, not of works. I am a branch abiding in the Vine—fruit comes from connection, not striving. Abraham lied, Jacob deceived, yet both received wives under the BARAK covenant. I declare I am righteous by HIS gift, not my consistency. The right woman is attracted to a man connected to God, not a man who never struggles.
Your Father isn't grading your quiet times before releasing your blessing. He gave His Son while you were still a sinner. The wife He's prepared isn't a prize for spiritual perfection—she's a gift of grace, and she's being brought to a man learning to abide, not a man who's already arrived.
