"I need to accept this pain and find meaning in it rather than keep fighting for healing that won't come."
How it sounds in your head: All the Christian books on suffering say to embrace it, find God in it, let it refine me. Maybe I'm being stubborn and faithless by not accepting this 'thorn' as God's will for me. Acceptance seems more spiritual than constant hope.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religious teaching glorifying suffering and reframing resignation as spiritual maturity, blocking faith for healing.
Years of prayer without breakthrough makes acceptance seem wise, not defeated. Pastoral counsel emphasizes finding meaning in suffering rather than expecting deliverance, framing continued pain as God's mysterious purpose.
Eighteen years bent over, unable to straighten, caused by a spirit of infirmity. Jesus called her 'daughter of Abraham' and said she 'ought to be loosed'—OUGHT, as in it was WRONG she suffered. He loosed her IMMEDIATELY, and she was made straight.
I REFUSE the lie that I should accept pain and stop believing for healing. IT IS WRITTEN: God's will is that I 'prosper in all things and be in health.' Health is not presumption; it's His prayer. IT IS WRITTEN: By His stripes I WAS healed—past tense, finished work. Resignation is not spiritual maturity; it's agreement with disease. I am a daughter of Abraham under the BARAK blessing. I OUGHT to be loosed from this pain. I receive IMMEDIATE healing and reject religious suffering theology.
The Father isn't saying 'accept this pain and learn from it.' He's saying what Jesus said: 'You OUGHT to be loosed'—it's WRONG that you suffer, and He's ready to loose you this very moment, not because you earned it but because you're His beloved daughter.
