"I need to accept this illness—fighting it shows I don't trust God's will."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe I'm being rebellious by asking for healing. Maybe faith means surrendering to whatever God allows, even if it's suffering. Maybe fighting this disease means I don't trust His plan.
"He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil."
-- 1 John 3:8Religion confused surrender with passivity, making acceptance of evil seem like faith in God.
She's been taught that submission to God means submission to circumstances, and fighting feels like doubt. Church teaching praised those who 'accepted God's will' even when that will was sickness.
Bartimaeus was blind, begging by the road. People told him to be QUIET—to accept his condition, stop making a scene. He REFUSED and cried out LOUDER. Jesus stopped, called him, and healed him IMMEDIATELY. His refusal to accept blindness was FAITH.
I REFUSE the lie that accepting illness shows trust in God. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus was manifested to DESTROY the works of the devil, and sickness is a work of the devil, not my Father's will. Bartimaeus REFUSED to be quiet when people told him to accept his blindness, and Jesus called that FAITH. Jesus NEVER told anyone to surrender to disease—He destroyed it. IT IS WRITTEN that it's God's will that I prosper and be in health, even as my soul prospers. Trusting God means believing He's a HEALER. The BARAK blessing declares I am blessed in my body, not broken by disease.
Your Father isn't asking you to passively accept sickness as His will—He's the One who stopped for Bartimaeus when everyone else said 'be quiet and accept it.' He's not offended by your fight for healing; He's the One who SENT His Son to destroy the works of the devil, and sickness is one of them.
