"I need to accept poverty as God's will since I mismanaged His resources before."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe God allowed you to lose everything to teach you contentment in little. Maybe poverty is His will for you now. Accept it with grace instead of fighting for more you'll just waste again.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religious teaching that God authors poverty as punishment or character development for poor stewardship.
Multiple sermons have taught her to 'bloom where planted' and find contentment in all circumstances. Accepting poverty feels spiritual and humble compared to asking for more she 'doesn't deserve.'
Job lost everything—children, wealth, health—and his 'religious' friends insisted he must have sinned and should accept it as God's judgment. God called them WRONG and restored Job's fortunes with DOUBLE what he had before.
I REFUSE the lie that poverty is God's will for me. IT IS WRITTEN that God's will is that I PROSPER in all things and be in health—not accept poverty with grace. Christ became poor so I might become RICH. The BARAK blessing means I am blessed coming in and going out, in the city and in the field. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:12 that the Lord commands blessing on my storehouses. My Father's will is blessing, not poverty disguised as humility. I receive His prosperity NOW.
Your Father's will isn't poverty—He's the One who gave Job DOUBLE after loss, who restored the prodigal fully after waste. He wants you prospering so you can be a conduit of blessing, not resigned to lack masquerading as contentment.
