"I must have hidden sin blocking my healing—God won't heal me until I find it."
How it sounds in your head: I've confessed everything I can think of, but I'm still sick. There must be something I'm missing. Maybe unforgiveness I don't even know about. Maybe generational sin. I can't receive healing until I'm spiritually clean enough.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Religious performance teaching that makes healing conditional on perfect repentance and self-examination.
She's been taught that sin blocks blessings, and since she's not healed, there must be sin. She's hypervigilant about her spiritual state, constantly introspecting, afraid she's missing something. Church leaders have implied her lack of healing reveals hidden disobedience.
The man was an invalid for thirty-eight years, and Jesus didn't interview him about his sin or require confession. He simply said, 'Rise, take up your bed and walk,' and IMMEDIATELY the man was made well—healed FIRST, then later Jesus mentioned sin, but healing wasn't conditional on it.
I REFUSE the lie that I must achieve perfect repentance before receiving healing. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was STILL a sinner, Christ died for me—He didn't wait for me to clean up. My healing is not a reward for confession; it's a GIFT of grace received by faith. IT IS WRITTEN that the blood of Jesus cleanses me from ALL sin—not just the ones I remember, ALL. I stand before God in Christ's righteousness, not my own performance. The BARAK blessing protected Abraham even when he LIED—it's based on COVENANT, not conduct. I receive healing NOW, not because I'm perfect, but because HE IS!
The Father isn't withholding healing while you dig through your spiritual closet looking for hidden sins—the blood of Jesus already cleaned out EVERY closet, even the ones you forgot existed. Like the prodigal's father who interrupted the confession speech to throw a party, your Father interrupts your introspection to release healing because Jesus already did the cleanup work.
