"I missed God's best by not marrying; now I'm living in second-best."
How it sounds in your head: You wonder if there was someone you should have pursued, a moment you missed. You feel like you're living in Plan B because you didn't figure out Plan A in time.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
-- Jeremiah 29:11Religious teaching of God's 'perfect will' vs. 'permissive will' that creates hierarchy of blessings based on decisions.
Looking back over decades creates what-if scenarios and regret. Teaching that marriage is God's ideal makes singleness feel like settling for less.
Remained single his entire ministry, wrote most of the New Testament, planted churches across the known world, and explicitly stated he WISHED others were single like him. His singleness was central to his maximum impact, not a consolation prize.
I REFUSE the lie that I missed God's best or am living in second-best. IT IS WRITTEN that God's thoughts toward me are of peace, to give me a future and hope. There is no Plan B with God. IT IS WRITTEN that ALL things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. The BARAK blessing means I am blessed in ALL my ways, married or single. I declare that my life is unfolding according to divine design, and what looks like missing out is actually positioning for maximum kingdom impact.
The Father is not reluctantly accepting your singleness—He is celebrating the unique influence you carried BECAUSE of it. Like Paul, your undivided devotion positioned you for assignments married people couldn't fulfill.
