"Something must be spiritually broken in me that I never married—I missed God's best plan."
How it sounds in your head: You've heard the sermons about God's perfect will versus His permissive will, and you wonder if you somehow stepped outside the plan. Maybe you were too picky, too independent, too focused on career. Now you watch younger women get what you never had, and it feels like confirmation that something in you was defective all along.
"For I wish that all men were even as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that."
-- 1 Corinthians 7:7Religious teaching that implies singleness is always second-best, combined with trauma from well-meaning church people asking 'Why never married?' as if it's evidence of hidden sin.
Every wedding you attended echoed Genesis 2:18 about it not being good for man to be alone, making you feel like the exception God forgot. The married women got Bible studies on being a godly wife; you got prayer chains treating your singleness like a disease needing healing.
Paul revolutionized the world, wrote most of the New Testament, and planted churches across continents—and he was SINGLE. He called it a gift that freed him for undistracted devotion, and God used his singleness to accomplish what married life couldn't have contained.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm spiritually defective because I never married. IT IS WRITTEN: singleness is a GIFT from God, and each person has their own gift—mine is legitimate, chosen, and powerful. I am NOT Plan B. IT IS WRITTEN: all my days were ordained before one came to be, which means every single year was IN the plan, not outside it. The enemy wants me to view my life as lack, but the Father calls it GIFT. I walk in the BARAK blessing that Abraham received—not because of relationship status but because of COVENANT. I am blessed in the city and field, coming in and going out, and the Lord commands blessing on everything I set my hand to. My life is not broken; it's ANOINTED.
The Father isn't looking at your life with disappointment, shaking His head at the wedding that never happened—He's celebrating the undistracted devotion you've given Him, the freedom you've walked in, the unique calling you've fulfilled that required THIS path. He's been running toward you with the ring and robe every single day, throwing a party over the life you think was second-best.
