"I'm incomplete because I never had a spouse to complete me."
How it sounds in your head: They say 'two become one.' You're just the one. Half a whole. An unfinished story. Men are supposed to be providers, protectors, heads of households. You're none of those because there was no household. Incomplete by design.
"And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power."
-- Colossians 2:10World: Romantic mythology that humans are incomplete without a romantic other half, denying the sufficiency of Christ.
Every wedding you attended said 'two become one flesh.' Genesis says it's not good for man to be alone. The language of faith and culture both say you need another person to be whole. You never got that person, so the math says you're half.
Paul was single and called it a GIFT. He wrote most of the New Testament, planted churches across the known world, and said, 'I wish that all men were even as I myself.' He was so complete in Christ that he considered singleness an advantage, not a deficit. His legacy shaped Christianity for 2,000 years—unmarried and fully whole.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm incomplete without a spouse. IT IS WRITTEN that I am COMPLETE in Christ, who is the head of all principality and power. I don't need another human to make me whole—Jesus is my completion. IT IS WRITTEN that His divine power has given me ALL things that pertain to life and godliness. I lack NOTHING. My identity is not provider-without-a-family; it's SON of the Most High God. The BARAK blessing doesn't require a spouse—Abraham's blessing is mine by covenant. I am whole, I am full, I am complete in Him.
The Father isn't looking at you as half a person, wishing you'd found the other half to finally be useful. He sees you as FULLY complete in His Son, perfectly whole, exactly as He designed—and every year of singleness has been an invitation to discover a depth of completion in Christ that marriage could never provide. You're not missing a piece; you've had the WHOLE treasure all along.
