"I messed up too badly; the enemy has legal right to attack me now."
How it sounds in your head: You opened a door you shouldn't have. Maybe it was that relationship, that party, that spiritual thing you dabbled in, that sin you keep going back to. You gave the enemy a foothold, and now he has legal rights to torment you. You handed him ammunition. The attacks feel like consequences you deserve, and you don't know how to undo what you've done.
"Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:14Source: Religion teaches spiritual warfare is a legal system where your sin gives the enemy enforceable claims against you, making Jesus' blood insufficient.
The attack intensified after that specific sin or decision. It feels targeted and personal, like the enemy is punishing you for what you did. Christian books talk about closing doors and breaking soul ties, which implies you opened doors that give him access. The guilt makes the attacks feel deserved.
A criminal, dying for crimes he admitted he deserved to die for, with zero opportunity to make restitution, close doors, break soul ties, or clean up his life. Jesus said 'Today you will be with Me in Paradise' - no legal process, no spiritual housecleaning, no waiting period. Every claim against him was erased in one moment by Jesus' declaration. If the enemy had legal rights, that thief should have been disqualified.
I REFUSE the lie that my sin gives the enemy legal rights to attack me. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus wiped out the handwriting of requirements against me and nailed it to the cross. There is NO legal claim the enemy can make that survives the blood of Jesus. The cross didn't give me a fighting chance - it gave me COMPLETE forgiveness, TOTAL cleansing, ABSOLUTE freedom. Every door I opened in sin was closed by Jesus' blood. Every foothold I gave the enemy was demolished by the finished work of the cross. IT IS WRITTEN that I have the blessing of Abraham - the blessing that protected Abraham when he lied, Jacob when he deceived, Judah when he sinned sexually. The BARAK doesn't wait for me to undo my mistakes. It covers me because of covenant, and the enemy has ZERO legal authority over covenant people covered by the blood.
Your Father didn't say 'you messed up too badly for the blood to cover that.' There is no sin big enough to survive the cross. The moment you confess and turn to Him, every legal claim is erased - not processed, not pending, not under review. ERASED. The enemy has no rights to you. You belong to Jesus, and His blood speaks louder than your worst mistake.
