"I looked at porn, so God won't use me for anything important now."
How it sounds in your head: Every guy at school talks about it, but I feel like I crossed a line God won't forgive. Youth leaders talk about purity like once you mess up, you're damaged goods. I'm probably disqualified from leadership or ministry forever.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Source: Religion's purity culture that makes one sexual sin permanently disqualifying, unlike grace that makes you instantly new.
Church emphasizes sexual sin as uniquely catastrophic, creating shame spirals. The physical response feels like proof you're 'that kind of person' now, and the secrecy makes it feel unforgivable.
Rahab was a PROSTITUTE—her actual job was sexual sin—yet God chose her to hide the spies and put her in the MESSIANIC LINEAGE. One act of faith and she went from brothel owner to great-great-grandmother of King David and direct ancestor of Jesus (Matthew 1:5).
I REFUSE the lie that my sexual struggles disqualify me from God's purposes. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a NEW CREATION—old things PASSED AWAY the moment I believed. My identity isn't 'guy who looked at porn,' it's BELOVED SON, RIGHTEOUS IN CHRIST, SEATED IN HEAVENLY PLACES. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus. The enemy wanted shame to silence my calling, but the Father's blood ERASED what religion said was permanent. I am QUALIFIED by Jesus, not disqualified by my worst moment. The BARAK blessing that protected Abraham the liar and Judah who slept with his daughter-in-law covers me NOW.
The Father isn't keeping a scorecard of your private battles—He's running toward you with the ROBE of righteousness, not a lecture about purity. The same blood that saved you INSTANTLY made you qualified for EVERY good work He prepared in advance for you to do.
