"I invited demonic oppression by seeking psychics and now I can't get free."
How it sounds in your head: After my wife died, I was desperate to hear from her. I went to mediums, psychics, tried to contact her spirit. I know it was wrong but I was broken. Now I feel haunted, like I invited something dark that won't leave.
"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."
-- 1 John 4:4Enemy exploitation of grief combined with religious teaching about permanent demonic access through occult contact.
His grief made him vulnerable and he violated what he knew was wrong. The shame feels like evidence of permanent spiritual damage, and any lingering darkness convinces him demons have squatter's rights.
This man presided over a jail where a demon-possessed slave girl operated (same city, same system). The moment he believed, he and his entire household were baptized and filled with joy - INSTANT deliverance from whatever spiritual darkness surrounded his occupation.
I REFUSE the lie that my grief-driven mistakes gave demons permanent access to my life. IT IS WRITTEN that He who is in me is GREATER than he who is in the world - present tense, right now. I have already OVERCOME every power of darkness because of the ONE living in me. The blood of Jesus is louder than every séance, every psychic reading, every desperate attempt to contact the dead. IT IS WRITTEN that if the Son sets me free, I am free INDEED. No demon has squatter's rights in a blood-bought temple. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and my identity EVICTS every intruder.
The Father isn't condemning you for being a grieving husband desperate to hear your wife's voice. He's holding you now, whispering that HIS voice is the one you need, and He's already EVICTED every darkness that tried to exploit your broken heart.
