"I have to do more to make God proud of me"
How it sounds in your head: Other guys seem to have it together—praying more, reading their Bible daily, leading youth group. I can barely stay awake through devotions. If I was really a good Christian, I'd be doing way more.
"And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power."
-- Colossians 2:10Source: Religion comparing you to model youth group kids, making relationship into performance review
You see other teens posting Scripture on Instagram and leading worship while you're struggling with secret sin. The youth pastor keeps saying 'daily quiet time' like it's the password to God's approval.
A dying criminal with zero Bible knowledge, no baptism, no discipleship program, never attended church, couldn't even DO anything good because he was nailed to wood. Jesus said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise'—instant approval based on zero performance.
I REFUSE the lie that I must do more to earn God's pride. IT IS WRITTEN that I am COMPLETE in Christ right now, not in progress. I am not a project waiting for approval—I am a SON already approved by the Father's declaration over Jesus: 'This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.' That same pleasure rests on me because I am IN HIM. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for me in Christ Jesus. The BARAK blessing of Abraham is mine by COVENANT, not by my devotional consistency. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and His pride in me is SETTLED.
The Father sees you in Christ and feels the SAME pride He felt watching Jesus—because He doesn't see your incomplete quiet times, He sees His Son's FINISHED WORK covering you. He's not waiting for you to do more; He's celebrating that you're HOME.
