"God can't bless me financially because I'm not a good steward yet"
How it sounds in your head: I blow my allowance on dumb stuff, don't tithe consistently, and can't manage money. Why would God trust me with more when I'm irresponsible with what I have? I need to prove I can handle it first.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Source: Religion mixing Old Covenant stewardship tests with New Covenant lavish grace, making God a financial gatekeeper
Dave Ramsey principles and 'faithful with little' verses make it sound like God's waiting for you to pass a money management test. Your spending feels chaotic, so blessing feels far off.
The prodigal BLEW his entire inheritance on prostitutes and parties—worst financial stewardship possible. When he returned, the father didn't put him on a budget plan or make him prove responsibility. He gave him the RING (authority), ROBE (identity), and threw a PARTY. Instant restoration, zero financial probation.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds financial blessing until I prove I'm responsible. IT IS WRITTEN that God is ABLE to make ALL grace abound toward me so I have ALL sufficiency in ALL things—not based on my stewardship report card. The BARAK blessing of Abraham is MINE by covenant through Christ, and it protected liars, deceivers, and reckless sons. My provision flows from GOD'S NATURE, not my money management. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, in the city and the field, and the Lord commands blessing on my storehouses. I am a SON, not a servant on probation. The Father's house has MORE than enough, and I have ACCESS because of JESUS, not my budgeting skills.
The Father doesn't wait for you to master a budget before He opens His hand—He's putting the ring of authority on your finger while you still smell like wasted money, celebrating your IDENTITY not your financial GPA. He's a giver, and you're His beloved son.
