"I have to confess every single sin perfectly or demons will have legal right to attack me."
How it sounds in your head: If I forget to confess something, that's a legal opening. I have to remember every bad thought and say it exactly right or I'm not protected. What if I sinned and don't even know it?
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Source: Legalistic teaching that makes the cross insufficient and puts protection on human memory instead of Jesus' blood.
He's been taught that unconfessed sin gives Satan authority. His developing conscience is hyperactive and he can't track every thought, creating perpetual fear.
A dying criminal with no time to confess every sin, remember every wrong, or get his life in order. Jesus said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise'—instant, total forgiveness with zero detailed confession.
I REFUSE the lie that I must confess perfectly to be protected. IT IS WRITTEN that God has forgiven me ALL trespasses and wiped out every legal requirement against me. The enemy has NO legal right because Jesus nailed the entire legal document to the cross. IT IS WRITTEN that the blood of Jesus cleanses me from ALL sin—even what I can't remember. I am not protected by my memory but by His BLOOD. I am as forgiven as the thief on the cross who had no time for detailed confession. I am FREE.
The Father doesn't sit with a clipboard checking if you remembered everything—He sees you covered by Jesus' blood that never runs out. He's running toward you saying 'You're FULLY forgiven, fully protected, fully Mine.'
