Practically, you DO have to plan around symptoms. You can't ignore medication schedules. Job options ARE limited by insurance needs. The disease has forced restructuring of every area of life. The management is REAL and daily, and denying that feels irresponsible.
Dealt with a persistent 'thorn in the flesh,' begged God three times to remove it, got a 'no' on removal but a YES on grace. Didn't build life AROUND the thorn—built DESPITE it, planted churches across continents, wrote half the New Testament, THRIVED with an unhealed condition by letting grace be sufficient.
I REFUSE the lie that disease gets to be the center of my life. IT IS WRITTEN: In CHRIST all things consist—He is the axis, not my diagnosis. I will steward my body wisely, but I will not WORSHIP at the altar of symptom management. The BARAK blessing doesn't accommodate sickness; it CRUSHES it. I am blessed coming in and going out, in the city and the field, in HEALTH not disease management. IT IS WRITTEN: The joy of the Lord is my STRENGTH. My strength source is HIM, not optimal symptom control. I live FROM Him, not FROM careful disease accommodation. He is Lord over my schedule, my energy, my body—disease is subject to HIM.
The Father isn't asking you to build a smaller life around a big disease. He's inviting you to build a MASSIVE life around a BIG GOD who happens to have a disease in the room that's about to be evicted. While you're Googling symptom management strategies, He's running toward you with the blueprint for the FULL life Jesus promised—abundant, overflowing, unhindered by what hell assigned to slow you down.
