"I had same-sex relationships. The church says that's the line God won't cross. I'm beyond grace."
How it sounds in your head: I know what Romans 1 says. I know what Leviticus says. The church has made it clear—this is the sin that's too far. I can't undo what I've done. Even if God forgives, I'm marked, disqualified, second-tier forever.
"Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God."
-- 1 Corinthians 6:9-11Source: religious culture that creates a hierarchy of sins, making sexual sins 'worse' and LGBTQ sins 'unforgivable,' contradicting the finished work of the cross.
Religious voices have been louder about this sin than others, creating the impression that it's in a separate category beyond normal grace. You've heard condemnation more than compassion, so rejection feels inevitable.
Paul writes to believers who WERE homosexuals, adulterers, thieves, drunkards—'such WERE some of you'—and now they are washed, sanctified, justified, no longer identified by their past but by their position in Christ. Full transformation, full acceptance, full standing.
I REFUSE the lie that sexual sin creates a separate category beyond grace. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Corinthians 6:11 that 'such WERE some of you—but you were WASHED.' My past does not define my present. IT IS WRITTEN that if anyone is in Christ, they are a NEW CREATION—old things PASSED AWAY, all things BECAME NEW. I am not marked by my history; I am marked by His blood. The cross was sufficient for ALL sin or it was sufficient for NONE. I am washed, sanctified, justified—not despite my past but because of His finished work. I am not second-tier, not disqualified, not 'less than.' I am fully His.
The Father isn't sorting people by sexual history. The Corinthian church was full of former homosexuals, adulterers, and drunkards—and Paul calls them 'sanctified,' 'washed,' 'justified' with zero distinction or hierarchy. You are as fully loved and fully restored as any person who ever received grace.
