"I said something blasphemous in anger, so God won't hear my prayers anymore."
How it sounds in your head: I screamed at God when I was hurt. I said I hated Him. I cursed His name. I told Him I was done. Those words came out of my mouth and I can't take them back. He must have turned His face away from me.
"Lord, why do You cast off my soul? Why do You hide Your face from me?"
-- Psalm 88:14Source: Religious teaching that God is fragile and offended by our honesty, especially our anger.
The intensity of what you said feels unforgivable. You meant it in the moment, and that feels like crossing a sacred line.
Job cursed the day he was born, accused God of attacking him for no reason, and said God was treating him like an enemy. God's response at the end? He rebuked Job's religious friends and said 'Job has spoken what is RIGHT about Me.'
I REFUSE the lie that my angry words cut me off from God's presence. IT IS WRITTEN that the Psalms are FULL of people screaming at God—and He called it worship, not blasphemy. Job accused God of injustice and God said he spoke RIGHTLY. IT IS WRITTEN that nothing can separate me from the love of God—not things present, not things past, not words spoken in agony. God is not fragile. He can handle my rage, my questions, my raw humanity. The BARAK blessing over my life doesn't evaporate because I was honest about my pain—it covers me even when I'm furious.
The Father heard every word you screamed and He didn't flinch—He moved closer. He'd rather have your honest rage than your polite distance.
