"I gave my life to a ministry or cause that failed and those years are irretrievable."
How it sounds in your head: You poured decades into that church, that nonprofit, that mission—and it collapsed, split, or was taken over. Years of late nights, sacrificed family time, financial investment, emotional labor for a ministry that no longer exists. Decades erased.
"Each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward."
-- 1 Corinthians 3:13-15Enemy's lie tying your value to organizational success, amplified by ministry culture that equates God's approval with visible results.
The building's sold, the ministry dissolved, the leader fell, the people scattered. Google shows nothing of what consumed your forties and fifties. It's like it never existed.
Jeremiah prophesied for 40 YEARS and saw ZERO fruit—the people didn't repent, the nation fell, the temple burned, everyone was exiled. By 'results' standards, he FAILED completely. Yet God called him a SUCCESS because he OBEYED, and his writings became Scripture that has influenced billions. His 'failed' ministry outlasted kingdoms.
I REFUSE the lie that a failed ministry means wasted years. IT IS WRITTEN that each one's WORK will be revealed, not each organization's success. God measures MY faithfulness, not outcomes I couldn't control. Every hour I served, every person I touched, every sacrifice I made is recorded in Heaven and REWARDED by Heaven regardless of what happened to the building. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 6:9 that I WILL reap if I don't lose heart—not 'might,' WILL. I am Jeremiah—40 years of 'failure' that became eternal Scripture. The BARAK blessing means my storehouses overflow regardless of organizational outcomes. My reward isn't coming FROM the ministry; it's coming FROM FATHER, and it's abundant and it's NOW.
Father isn't auditing whether the ministry survived; He's celebrating YOUR heart, YOUR faithfulness, YOUR obedience. Like the prodigal's father, He's not withholding until you've rebuilt what fell—He's RUNNING toward you with reward for what you DID, regardless of what others did with it afterward.
