"I forfeited my inheritance when I walked away from God—there's no coming back from that."
How it sounds in your head: I used to believe, used to pray, used to care—and I walked away. I said things, did things, stopped going to church, stopped reading my Bible. You can't just come back after that like nothing happened. I burned that bridge.
"This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil."
-- Hebrews 6:19Source: Religious probation system that treats grace like a job you can be fired from instead of sonship you can't lose.
You literally remember turning your back, remember doubting, remember doing things you knew were wrong. The guilt is real, the distance is real, and everything in the world teaches that betrayal and abandonment have permanent consequences—so why wouldn't it work that way with God?
Peter denied Jesus THREE TIMES—said 'I don't know Him' to save his own skin, with curses and oaths, after swearing he'd die first. Judas betrayed Jesus and hung himself; Peter betrayed Jesus and Jesus made him breakfast on the beach, restored him in three questions, and gave him the keys to launch the Church—full restoration, zero probation period.
I REFUSE the lie that I forfeited my inheritance by walking away. IT IS WRITTEN that my hope is an ANCHOR both sure and steadfast—it doesn't drift when I do because it's anchored in HIS faithfulness, not mine. Peter denied Jesus three times and got breakfast and full restoration with zero probation. The prodigal spent everything on prostitutes and got the ring, robe, and party in fifteen minutes. My wandering doesn't change my Father's nature or revoke His gifts, because Romans 11:29 says they're IRREVOCABLE. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus—not 'no condemnation unless you walked away.' I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing isn't based on my perfect attendance; it's based on COVENANT BLOOD that holds me even when I let go.
Your Father isn't standing at the door with arms crossed saying 'so you came crawling back'—He's RUNNING down the driveway while you're still rehearsing your apology, already holding the robe and ring because He never stopped seeing you as His son. Wandering doesn't forfeit sonship; it just delays you experiencing what was always yours.
