"I don't know the Bible well enough to have authority over demons."
How it sounds in your head: You barely remember what you read this morning. Pastors quote chapter and verse instantly—you can't even find Habakkuk without the table of contents. How can you command anything when you don't know Scripture like they do?
"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues."
-- Mark 16:17Source: Religion taught that authority flows from knowledge instead of relationship and covenant position.
You see adults who've studied for decades and still struggle. You forget verses an hour after reading them. It feels like you need a theology degree to be effective in spiritual battle.
Jesus sent out twelve guys who constantly misunderstood His parables and argued about who was greatest. He gave them power over all demons and to cure diseases before they understood the cross, resurrection, or most of His teaching. They cast out demons while theologically confused.
I REFUSE the lie that I need a seminary degree to enforce hell's defeat. IT IS WRITTEN that signs follow those who BELIEVE, and I believe Jesus is Lord. My authority is not in how much Bible I've memorized but in WHOSE NAME I carry. I am the righteousness of God in Christ—a gift I didn't earn and can't lose by forgetting a verse reference. IT IS WRITTEN that the enemy flees at the NAME of Jesus, and that Name is in my mouth right now. I am Abraham's seed, blessed coming in and going out, and demons know my covenant better than I do.
The Father is laughing at the enemy's intimidation tactics. He handed you a bazooka and the devil is saying 'But you didn't read the manual!' Your Father says, 'Just point it and pull the trigger—I already loaded it with resurrection power.' You're more dangerous than you think.
