"I don't have time for friendships between work, kids, and everything else on my plate."
How it sounds in your head: Your calendar is color-coded chaos. Between career demands, teenagers' schedules, aging parents, and keeping your marriage alive, friendship feels like a luxury you can't afford. By the time you have a free hour, you're too exhausted to be good company anyway.
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
-- Matthew 11:28World: Hustle culture that measures worth by productivity and treats rest and relationship as wasteful.
You literally don't have margin. Last week you ate lunch standing at the counter three times. You can't remember the last time you had a conversation that wasn't logistics. Even texting back feels like another task you're failing at.
Martha was overwhelmed with serving, distracted by endless tasks, frustrated that she was doing it all alone. Jesus didn't give her time management tips—He invited her to stop striving and simply SIT with Him and Mary; relationship was the one thing needed.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too busy for the friendship my soul is starving for. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus gives rest to the heavy laden—right now, in the middle of the chaos, not after I've cleared my schedule. I am a branch abiding in the Vine; fruit comes from CONNECTION, not production. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord commands the blessing on my storehouses—He multiplies my time, my energy, my capacity supernaturally. The BARAK blessing doesn't require perfect time management; it causes favor and provision to chase me down. I receive divine interruptions that are actually divine APPOINTMENTS. The Father is orchestrating friendships that FIT my life, not compete with it.
The Father sees you running yourself ragged and isn't adding friendship to your to-do list. He's bringing women into the carpool line, the work meeting, the Target run—friendships that happen IN your life, not in addition to it, because He knows you need held, not more tasks.
