"I don't have the talent or ability others have—I'm just average."
How it sounds in your head: Some guys are naturals—gifted, charismatic, talented. I'm not. I work hard and get mediocre results. I'm ordinary in a world that rewards exceptional.
"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty."
-- 1 Corinthians 1:27Enemy comparison + world's celebration of natural talent over faithfulness + competitive culture.
He watches peers succeed effortlessly while he grinds for small gains. Every highlight reel on social media confirms others have something he doesn't—natural ability, charisma, the 'X factor.'
Amos was a shepherd and fig farmer—no prophetic pedigree, no formal training, totally ordinary. God called him anyway and used him to speak to kings. His 'lack' of credentials didn't disqualify him—God's call was enough.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm just average or lacking talent. IT IS WRITTEN: God CHOSE the weak and foolish to shame the mighty. My 'ordinary' is His platform for extraordinary power. I'm not limited by natural ability—I'm empowered by the Spirit. IT IS WRITTEN: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Talent is the world's requirement; availability is His. I am who He says I am, positioned for His glory.
The Father isn't looking for the most talented—He's looking for available sons. Like Amos the fig farmer, He takes ordinary and speaks through it. He doesn't need your résumé; He delights in showing up in your weakness with HIS strength.
