"I didn't do enough in my life. I wasted my years and now it's too late."
How it sounds in your head: You look back and see all the mistakes, the missed opportunities, the years you spent struggling instead of serving. The enemy whispers that you're meeting God empty-handed. You wonder if He's disappointed in how little you accomplished for Him.
"Then he said to Jesus, 'Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.' And Jesus said to him, 'Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.'"
-- Luke 23:42-43Religion taught that your life only matters if you produced measurable ministry results, planted churches, or left a legacy of works.
You can count your failures easily but your victories seem so small compared to what others accomplished. At 90+, there's no time left to make up for what you didn't do.
Workers hired at the very last hour of the day, who only worked sixty minutes, received THE SAME FULL PAY as those who worked all day. The landowner said 'I choose to give to this last man the same as to you' - generosity based on HIS nature, not their hours.
I REFUSE the lie that my life was wasted or that I'm meeting God empty-handed. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief on the cross entered Paradise with ZERO accomplishments, and Jesus welcomed him that very day. My acceptance is not based on my productivity but on Christ's finished work. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 2:8-9 that salvation is the GIFT of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and the Father runs toward me with the robe, the ring, and the celebration - not because of what I did, but because of WHO I AM in Him. The BARAK blessing of Abraham is mine by covenant, not by performance, and I receive the Father's 'well done' because I am IN the Beloved.
The Father isn't looking at your résumé - He's looking at His Son's blood that covers you completely. Like the prodigal who came home with NOTHING but failure, the Father doesn't ask for an account of your years; He throws a party because you're HOME.
