"I cheated on that test so I'm a fraud and my success isn't real."
How it sounds in your head: I got a good grade but I didn't earn it. I'm a cheater. If people knew, they'd know I'm not actually smart. Everything after that moment feels fake.
"Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea."
-- Micah 7:18-19Enemy turning one moment of weakness into permanent identity as imposter.
You know you didn't earn that grade honestly. The A on your report card feels like a lie you're living. Every compliment about that class feels like a reminder that you're a fraud.
Cheated his way into his father's blessing through outright DECEPTION and lies. God didn't revoke it—He CONFIRMED it, renamed Jacob 'Israel,' and made him father of the twelve tribes. The blessing stuck DESPITE the cheating.
I REFUSE the lie that one act of cheating makes me a permanent fraud. IT IS WRITTEN that God casts my sins into the depths of the sea—they are GONE, not replayed. I am NOT defined by that moment. I am RIGHTEOUS in Christ, forgiven, and my future success is REAL. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:1 there is NO condemnation for me. I am in the BARAK covenant—blessed in my work, blessed in my grades, blessed coming in and going out. My integrity from TODAY FORWARD is what counts, and God's grace is SUFFICIENT.
The Father already knew you'd cheat on that test before you were born, and He STILL chose you for greatness. He's not replaying the moment—He's already erased it and moved on to celebrating your REAL victories ahead.
