"I can't trust myself to make good decisions anymore after this failure."
How it sounds in your head: Your judgment was obviously flawed. You missed warning signs. Made bad calls. Trusted wrong people. You can't trust your own discernment anymore—you've proven you make terrible decisions. Better to let others decide now.
"But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him."
-- 1 John 2:27Enemy destroying confidence in Holy Spirit guidance by fixating on one outcome, creating decision paralysis.
The business failure seems to validate every decision leading to it was wrong. Second-guessing becomes constant. His confidence in reading situations is genuinely shaken by the outcome.
Peter's judgment failed catastrophically—he denied Jesus three times after swearing he'd die first. Yet Jesus restored him completely by the fire, giving him the keys to the kingdom and making him foundation of the church.
I REFUSE the lie that I can't trust myself to make decisions after this failure. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 John 2:27 that the anointing I received abides in me and teaches me all things truthfully. The Holy Spirit in me hasn't failed or left. IT IS WRITTEN in John 16:13 that He guides me into all truth. Peter's judgment failed catastrophically when he denied Jesus three times, yet Jesus restored him fully and made him church foundation. One business outcome doesn't define my discernment. The BARAK blessing includes wisdom and guidance. My Father is running toward me with restoration of confidence, not condemnation of past decisions.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to rebuild confidence through perfect decisions—He's restoring your confidence RIGHT NOW as a gift. Peter denied Jesus three times, yet Jesus asked him three times 'Do you love Me?' giving him three chances to rebuild confidence by the same fire.
