"I ask for too much help and need to be more independent at my age."
How it sounds in your head: I used to do everything myself—now I need help with yard work, reaching things, lifting. I see the frustration when I ask again. I'm becoming the needy old man I swore I'd never be.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

Your physical capabilities have genuinely declined and you DO need more assistance with tasks you used to handle alone. Independence was your identity for decades, and losing it feels like losing yourself.
Moses at 80+ years old couldn't keep his arms raised alone during battle, so Aaron and Hur HELD UP HIS HANDS until sunset and Israel won. Moses didn't say 'I should be stronger'—he LET them help, and their combined strength brought NATIONAL VICTORY. His willingness to receive help saved an entire nation.
I REFUSE the lie that needing help makes me a burden or that independence equals strength. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is made PERFECT in my weakness, and when I am weak, THEN I am strong in Christ. My declining physical abilities are not failure—they're the INVITATION for God's power to rest on me in fresh ways. The BARAK of Abraham over my life includes divine PROVISION of helpers, resources, and strength beyond my own. IT IS WRITTEN to bear one another's burdens, and when I ask for help I'm giving others the PRIVILEGE of fulfilling Christ's law. I am NOT too much. I am exactly where God wants me—DEPENDENT on Him and His body.
The Father is running toward you with an ARMY of helpers you haven't even met yet—people He's been preparing to assist you who will consider it HONOR, not burden. He's about to supernaturally connect you with provision and strength that makes you weep at His detailed care, and your willingness to receive is what unlocks it.
