"He's too far gone—no one comes back from that level of sin and darkness."
How it sounds in your head: Drugs, jail, total moral collapse—you've seen what he's become. There's a point of no return, and he's crossed it. Other prodigals came back from partying, but this is different. This is depravity. This is too dark even for God.
"Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more."
-- Romans 5:20Religious lie that limits God's reach, measuring His power by human depravity levels instead of Christ's finished work.
The details of his lifestyle shock you—things you never imagined your son would do. Compared to other prodigal stories you've heard, his seems beyond redemption by any human measure.
Manasseh sacrificed his own sons in fire, practiced witchcraft and sorcery, consulted mediums, set up idols IN God's temple, and led Israel into worse evil than the pagan nations God destroyed. Absolute depravity. Yet when he cried out from a Babylonian prison, God heard, brought him back to Jerusalem, and restored him—the worst king became a worshiper.
I REFUSE the lie that my son is beyond God's reach. IT IS WRITTEN that where sin abounds, grace abounds MUCH MORE—there is no depth that out-reaches the arm of God. Manasseh sacrificed his children and consulted demons, yet God restored him instantly when he cried out. IT IS WRITTEN in Luke 15 that the father ran to his son while he STILL smelled like pigs—full acceptance before any cleanup. My son is NOT too far gone. The blood of Jesus covers the worst depravity humanity can conceive. I stand in covenant confidence—the same grace that saved me while I was yet a sinner is chasing my son right now with furious love.
The Father isn't shocked by your son's sin—He's already planned the redemption story that will make angels cheer. The darker the pit, the brighter the testimony, and your son is being positioned for a salvation so dramatic that people will know only God could have done it.
